This box is made from solid American cherry and measures approximately W330mm x D100mm x H55mm. It has two separate compartments that are lined on the bottom with light grey suede.
The two lids separately feature ‘Fossil’ and ‘White’ ColorCore (solid core laminate) by Formica and the handles are machined from solid brass.

For the exterior of the box, nothing more than a gentle wipe with a slightly damp cloth then polished with a dry cloth, should ever be necessary. The brass handles will get duller over time but a careful polish with Brasso (or similar) will restore their original shine.
I am always interested in the contrasts to be enjoyed between natural materials with their inherent inconsistencies and man made materials characterised by flawless consistency. Solid core (plastic) laminate delivers flawless flat colour. The gentle texture of the laminate provides a matt finish that delivers a further degree of flatness. The two snowy colours contrast with the warmth of the cherry wood.
