Handmade in Britain invites applications from exceptional British designer-makers and artisan producers to exhibit at the inaugural A Handmade Christmas at Newark Park.

Set within the beautiful historic rooms of Newark Park, a National Trust property, this carefully curated Christmas event will bring together 40–50 outstanding makers for a unique festive experience. The event will showcase exceptional handmade work alongside artisan food and drinks, live craft demonstrations, seasonal workshops, and festive experiences throughout the house.

More than a Christmas market, the event offers an inspiring setting that brings together craftsmanship, creativity, and the joy of buying directly from the maker.

Curated Makers

A carefully selected group of 40–50 British designer-makers showcasing exceptional handmade gifts, homewares, jewellery, textiles, ceramics, and seasonal pieces throughout the house.

Run Workshops

Workshop Hosts and Demonstrators

We’re inviting professional makers, artists and creative practitioners to deliver hands-on craft workshops or captivating demonstrations as part of A Handmade Christmas at Newark Park, taking place 20–22 November 2026.

We’re looking for engaging, festive themed workshops and demonstrations, such as wreath making, Christmas table styling, calligraphy, gift wrapping, candle making or children’s creative activities.

Workshop Information

Workshop hosts receive a dedicated online account to manage and promote their workshop listing.

Workshop hosts can set their own ticket prices, with all bookings managed through the Handmade in Britain website.

General customer enquiries managed for hosts by our team.

Workshop spaces and basic furniture provided by Handmade in Britain with no extra charges.

Handmade in Britain either take a commission on workshop ticket sales, or provide an artist fee and retain all ticket sales.

We recommend that workshops run from 30min up to a maximum of 1.5 hrs, and result in an item that participants can take away.

TICKET INFORMATION

Tickets

Normal Admission to Newark Park applies. National Trust members enter free, and non-members can purchase day tickets from £11, with some concessions available for families and groups.

Parking
  • The car park is 100 yards from Newark House and the main facilities. It uses the JustPark app and payment machines.
  • If you choose to use the JustPark app, please download it before your visit and create an account if you do not already have one.
  • National Trust members will not be charged for parking.
  • JustPark code for this location is 80633.
  • Members: Free, please register. Non-members: £1.10 for one hour, or £3.20 all day.

Venue: Newark Park is a Grade I listed country house of Tudor origins located near the village of Ozleworth, Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire, GL12 7PZ.

Cotswold Way passes property.
By Train:
Cam & Dursley 8 miles; Stroud 10 miles
By Bus:
Bristol to Thornbury, connecting Thornbury to Dursley, alight Wotton-under-Edge, 1¾ mile
By Car:
1¾ miles south of junction of A4135 and B4058, follow signs for Ozleworth/Newark Park.
NOTE Sat Nav: Please do not use your SatNav as it will take you up a very steep single track country lane. If travelling via Wotton-under-Edge, follow the brown signs for Newark Park from the mini-roundabout (follow the road up the hill, past the Cotswold Edge golf club and take a sharp right at the following junction). From all other directions please follow to the A4135 (Dursley-Tetbury); brown signs will direct you to the Ozleworth/Newark Park junction.

USEFUL INFORMATION

  • Parking: See note under Ticket Information above. Blue badge parking accepted/provided for.
  • Accessibility: Some steep routes and uneven surfaces. Flat accessible area around the house.  Ground floor of the house accessible. Wheelchair and tramper for hire (at Venue’s discretion – please Contact with enquiries). Accessibility Guide. Accessible toilets and baby changing facilities are available within at the Visitor Reception.
  • A variety of food and drink options will be available onsite.
  • A Demonstration Schedule and Workshop Listings will be published online in the lead up to the event.
  • Filming and photography may take place at Handmade Christmas for promotional and archival purposes. If you would prefer not to be photographed please let us know upon arrival. 
  • Dogs are permitted on short leads in the grounds. Assistance dogs only permitted within the house.
