Curated and organised by Handmade in Britain since 2007, Handmade Chelsea is an established high-end craft and design fair that celebrates the very best of British craftsmanship. Featuring over 100 of the most exciting international and UK-based designer makers who work across a wide range of disciplines – from glass and ceramics, jewellery and fashion, prints and textiles, to sculpture and wood – Handmade Chelsea has unique, eye-catching craft to suit all tastes.

This year, Handmade Chelsea will take place in the form of a dual-model. For the first time ever, those wishing to take part in our event will be able to do so both in-person at the beautiful Chelsea Old Town Hall and/or digitally through our dedicated online platform.

How to Get There

London Underground

Take the Circle or District Line to Sloane Square. Walk across Sloane Square and straight down the King’s Road (passing Peter Jones Department Store on your right hand side). Chelsea Old Town Hall is approximately a ten-minute walk down the King’s Road, on the left hand side immediately opposite the lower end of Sydney Street. You may also take a bus via the routes listed below.

Alternatively, you can take the Piccadilly or Circle and District Line to South Kensington. Walk south on Old Brompton Road, followed by a left turn. Continue down Old Brompton Road (passing Bela Bartok Memorial on your left hand side) for approximately 5-minutes. Turn right on Fulham Road, followed by a left turn down Sydney Street. Continue down Sydney Street for approximately 6-minutes (passing The Royal Marsden School and Royal Brompton Hospital). At the end of Fulham Road, turn left onto Sydney Street, followed by a left turn onto King’s Road where Chelsea Old Town Hall is located.

Local Bus Routes

Bus numbers 49 or 211 (Alight in the King’s Road at Chelsea Old Town Hall and the lower end of Sydney Street). Alternatively catch bus numbers 11, 19, 22, 211 or 319 from Sloane Square/King’s Road.

Car Parking

Chelsea Old Town Hall has 3 parking bays, 2 are provided for Main Hall hirers and 1 for Small Hall hirers. There is a small public car park (35 spaces) at the lower end of Sydney Street that operates Mon–Sat from 07:00–19:00. On-street parking is permitted at metered bays in nearby side streets.

Since 2007, Handmade Chelsea has been an established high-end craft and design fair that celebrates the very best of British craftsmanship. This three-day consumer-led event attracts a high number of visitors including the buying public, collectors, galleries, retail buyers and press. The fair will feature UK-based designer makers who work across a wide range of disciplines as well as artisan food producers – perfect for the festive gift-buying season. 

This year, Handmade Chelsea (which will be in line with government guidelines) will run as a dual model and feature both an in-person fair at the iconic Chelsea Old Town Hall as well as  an Interactive Virtual Fair  that will take place on our dedicated platform the following week from 17 – 21 November 2021.

All stands come complete with white wooden walls, lighting, fascia, name board and we will be happy to work with you in finding a stand size that will suit your needs. More stand information can be found in the application form. 

We invite applications from a range of disciplines including: art, ceramics, glass, jewellery, fashion, textiles, mixed media, furniture, metalwork, sculpture, woodwork, and prints.

We offer a range of stand sizes with prices starting from £685.00 + vat and our Interactive Virtual Fair prices start from just £49.00 + vat (with an additional £50.00+ vat one off set up fee if again you’re new to our online events).

KEY DATES

Applications & space allocations are reviewed weekly, on a first come first serve basis, in the run up to the deadline.

Application Fee: There is no separate application fee. However, if you are successful you will be required to pay a participation fee.

Applying to exhibit takes a maximum of 20 minutes. In order to complete successfully our short online application form, please have ready the following details about you and your work:

  • Your business contact information
  • 25-30 words about you and your collection (third person)
  • Four professionally photographed pieces and one example of a previous stand display

Tickets will come on sale in September. To be informed of when tickets will be available, subscribe to our mailing list.

Yes, throughout the days of the fair you will be able to purchase tickets from us at the venue.

If you require a carer to attend the fair with you, you are eligible for one complimentary carer ticket. Carer tickets can be reserved online once tickets go on sale. Please note that you must provide proof of disability on collection of your tickets through one of the following:

  • Attendance Allowance or Carer’s Allowance letter of award
  • Incapacity Benefit books, or a letter notifying the recipient that the benefit has been awarded Incapacity Benefit or Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • A valid Blue Badge
  • In the case of visual impairment, a registration card known as the BD8 or a Certificate of Visual Impairment (CVI)
  • A local authority registration document which is local to the attraction where it is being submitted 
  • Credability’s Access Card

The fair will take place at Chelsea Old Town Hall

Handmade Chelsea strives to be all inclusive and open to everyone. The event is accessible to visitors in wheelchairs and those with other disabilities.

Yes, there will be a cloakroom available for you to store your coats and small bags.

There is a lovely cafe on site that will have a selection of snacks and drinks available. We ask that you refrain from bringing your own food and drink into the venue.

There are several cash points around the venue, however we do accept card payments as well.

Wednesday 10 – Sunday 14 November 2021

Registrations will open in September.

You do not need any special software to take part in a virtual event. All you will require is a phone, tablet or computer with a good internet connection. We recommend using a Chrome browser where possible, and making sure that you have installed the latest software updates required for your device and internet browser ahead of the event. You will not be visible or audible, and you don’t need a headset or microphone.

Attendance to the the online fair is free.

Absolutely! The beauty of having an online fair lies in the fact that anyone from anywhere in the world can attend.
