Curated and organised by Handmade in Britain since 2007, Handmade Chelsea is an established high-end craft and design fair that celebrates the very best of British craftsmanship. Featuring over 75 of the most exciting international and UK-based designer makers who work across a wide range of disciplines – from glass and ceramics, jewellery and fashion, prints and textiles, to sculpture and wood – Handmade Chelsea is a unique opportunity to shop from independent designer-makers in one place. 

This year, Handmade Chelsea will take place in the form of a dual-model. For the first time ever, those wishing to take part in our event will be able to do so both in-person at the beautiful Chelsea Old Town Hall and/or digitally through our dedicated online platform.

Pricing

Tickets are available for purchase in advance and on the door. 

Open tickets will be valid across all three dates of the fair and will allow visitors to return as often as they like. One Day tickets will be valid for one day only, but if you are unable to make it to the fair on the date booked, your ticket will remain valid for the other fair dates. 

Re entry on the days of the events will be allowed.

Children under 14 will be able to attend the fair free of charge.

Covid-19 Updates

In order to assure the safety and comfort of our visitors at the fair, we will continue to ensure COVID-19 safety precautions are in place and adhered to. These precautions include:

  • Well ventilated venue and hand sanitizing stations at all entry and exit points
  • Proof of double vaccination or a negative test result, taken 24 hours before the visit
  • Encouraging all visitors to wear a face covering at events ( if required as per Govt. guidelines)

Cafe

We are partnering once more with Routes Coffee, providers of incredible coffee and unbeatable service. They will be on hand at Chelsea Old Town Hall to serve an assortment of delicious coffees, teas, and a selection of soft drinks. Small snacks such as cakes and biscuits will also be available.

Cloak Room

A cloak room will be available on site. Visitors can use this to store their coats and bags. There is no space for prams in the cloak room, however prams are permitted to be taken around the halls. 

Animals

Dogs and other animals are not permitted at the Craft Fair, with the exception of assistance dogs.

Chelsea Old Town Hall is wheelchair accessible.

Chelsea Old Town Hall has 3 parking bays, 2 are provided for Main Hall hirers and 1 for Small Hall hirers. There is a small public car park (35 spaces) at the lower end of Sydney Street that operates Mon–Sat from 07:00–19:00. On-street parking is permitted at metered bays in nearby side streets.

Continue down Sydney Street for approximately 6-minutes (passing The Royal Marsden School and Royal Brompton Hospital). At the end of Fulham Road, turn left onto Sydney Street, followed by a left turn onto King’s Road where Chelsea Old Town Hall is located.

Now in its 14th year, our consumer fair will be an excellent way to meet, reconnect and engage with, and sell directly to our shoppers, in-person including the buying public, collectors, galleries, retail buyers and press. The fair will feature UK-based designer-makers who work across a wide range of disciplines as well as artisan food producers – perfect for the festive gift-buying season just six weeks before Christmas.  

As an additional option you can reach online visitors, both throughout the UK and internationally, enabling them, if they are unable to be there in person, to buy directly from your e-commerce shop page. The option will be available on our dedicated platform, interact.handmadeinbritain.co.uk during the following week from 18 – 21 November 2021.

Which area will work best for you and your collection?

Contemporary Gallery Area
A ready built stand which comes complete with white wooden walls, lighting, fascia and name board. We offer a range of stand sizes with prices starting from £685.00 + vat. I will be happy to work with you in finding a stand size that will suit your needs.

Handmade Christmas Market Area
Running alongside the Handmade Chelsea fair this year, as an alternative to our Contemporary Gallery stands, is our Christmas Market Area where we are offering exhibitors covered tables. The Christmas market will provide the same high quality products with a vibrant & festive feel, but at a lower cost.

Our Handmade Christmas package is set at £400.00 + vat and this package includes a trestle table, table cloth, and chair.

Handmade Christmas Artisan Food
Co-located with the Christmas Market Area we are offering exhibitors covered tables.

Applying to exhibit takes a maximum of 20 minutes. In order to complete successfully our short online application form, please have ready the following details about you and your work:

  • Your business contact information
  • 25-30 words about you and your collection (third person)
  • Four professionally photographed pieces and one example of a previous stand display

Yes, throughout the days of the fair you will be able to purchase tickets from us at the venue.

If you require a carer to attend the fair with you, you are eligible for one complimentary carer ticket. Carer tickets can be reserved online once tickets go on sale. Please note that you must provide proof of disability on collection of your tickets through one of the following:

  • Attendance Allowance or Carer’s Allowance letter of award
  • Incapacity Benefit books, or a letter notifying the recipient that the benefit has been awarded Incapacity Benefit or Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • A valid Blue Badge
  • In the case of visual impairment, a registration card known as the BD8 or a Certificate of Visual Impairment (CVI)
  • A local authority registration document which is local to the attraction where it is being submitted 
  • Credability’s Access Card

The fair will take place at Chelsea Old Town Hall

Handmade Chelsea strives to be all inclusive and open to everyone. The event is accessible to visitors in wheelchairs and those with other disabilities.

Yes, there will be a cloakroom available for you to store your coats and small bags.

There is a lovely cafe on site that will have a selection of snacks and drinks available. We ask that you refrain from bringing your own food and drink into the venue.

There are several cash points around the venue, however we do accept card payments as well.

Wednesday 10 – Sunday 14 November 2021

Registrations will open in September.

You do not need any special software to take part in a virtual event. All you will require is a phone, tablet or computer with a good internet connection. We recommend using a Chrome browser where possible, and making sure that you have installed the latest software updates required for your device and internet browser ahead of the event. You will not be visible or audible, and you don’t need a headset or microphone.

Attendance to the the online fair is free.

There is no separate application fee. However, if you are successful you will be required to pay a participation fee.
