I am fascinated by these Keshi pearls, I love that they are so sculptural and tactile. Keshi pearls can come from different types of pearl oysters. They happen when the pearl oyster expells the implanted nucleus with the pearling process continuing. Keshi consists of pure mother-of-pearl and is therefor close to a natural pearl.
When I work with these pearls their shape and size will decide the design, each one is different so each piece is a one off piece of jewellery.
