Description:
My inspiration for this strange and whimsical little chap was an 18th Century Staffordshire pottery tobacco jar and a strong dose of pareidolia !
Pareidolia is the brain’s tendency to see faces and shapes in random patterns. Apparently much favoured by Leonardo da Vinci.
I “saw” this strange image in the random shapes on a fossil stone tile and couldn’t resist trying to recreate it in three dimensions.
As with the majority of my work this is a totally unique piece.
