This design has been refined – the piece is thrown as one hollow form – then a gallery for the lid is created by indenting the clay with a wooden tool -the lid and base are divided but then fired together. The gallery ensures that the lid fits cleanly over the butter without touching it. It’s simple and practical and a great addition to a busy cook’s kitchen. These are a new and slightly larger version approx 13 cmsø and approx 13 cms high – great for 1/2 a pack of butter
