For over a decade, our flagship show at Chelsea Old Town Hall has been an annual celebration of the very best of British contemporary craft and design. With approximately 120 exhibitors, it is a well-established, three-day consumer-led event, bringing in over 4,000 visitors annually, including trade, retail and press.
In 2015 we established a new partnership with Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and launched the annual four-day selling event, Handmade at Kew, Set in what is arguably the world's most beautiful botanic gardens, the event features over 200 leading international exhibitors selling a range of high-quality, handmade work across all disciplines for interiors, gardens, fashion and gifts.
The following year in 2016, we organised our first event in Scotland, Handmade Edinburgh. The event brings together over 100 designer-makers from across the UK for a three-day selling event at The Hub, on the infamous Royal Mile.
Following on from the success of Handmade at Kew, in 2017 we collaborated with Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, to curate an international contemporary sculpture exhibition, Sculpt at Kew, featuring work from over 30 artists installed in a purpose-built gallery and throughout the Gardens.
Handmade in Britain is expanding and in 2018, in addition to continuing with our existing portfolio of events, we are proud and excited to announce the launch of our online shop in March and Handmade Oxford in May.
'Beautiful exhibition! The sculptures are very well located and mix perfectly with the background, giving the exhibition an overall feeling of nature and calm. Absolutely loved it!' (Felipe, Sculpt at Kew 2017 visitor)
'Excellent spacing, one of the most beautiful exhibitions. Each piece allows the observer to engage fully with the art. Tranquil and undisturbed experience even though at times the gallery was busy it did not interrupt the whole experience. Frequently exhibitions are let down by the crowding of artworks. Perfect in every aspect. Thank you' (Sculpt at Kew 2017 visitor)
'The exhibition was truly inspiring. Lots of talent in the UK which we don't see or hear that often. Really great way to bring different people together and display their work. Thank you!' (Prash, Handmade Edinburgh 2017 visitor)
'The Hub is a fantastic venue and Handmade Edinburgh looked fabulous set up. There was plenty of footfall throughout the show and I had a great time talking to visitors and my fellow exhibitors… Handmade Edinburgh has been the best show for me this year!' (Lisa Watson, Handmade Edinburgh 2016 exhibitor)
'In a lovely Victorian hall, this is the go-to gift emporium. Meet up to 100 British designer-makers, happy to explain their art or craft, to sell on the spot or take special orders.' (Barbara Chandler, Evening Standard, Handmade in Britain 2017 guest)
'It was a superbly high standard and well organised fair set in a beautiful location, the marquee was immaculate as was the shell scheme/carpet etc. The fair was very well publicised and therefore extremely busy throughout the 4 days. (Sam Pickard, Handmade at Kew 2016 exhibitor)
'The Handmade in Britain team are supportive and encouraging for new and old exhibitors. Their events attract high quality customers who believe in unique products and the stories behind them.' (StephieAnn Design, Handmade at Kew 2016 exhibitor)
