If mirrors played by the rules they would all follow a sensible geometric form. Thankfully some dare to sprout individuality and answer to no-one.
This, obviously, is a one-off piece. Purpleheart and sycamore combine to strong effect forming a mirror with two hanging options. A piece that will enliven most hallways, prompting comment from all but the most world-weary of guests.
A fine purpleheart stringing surrounds the mirror’s frame, which projects from the wall on its finely-shaped purple protuberances.
Option of being mounted vertically or horizontally. Supplied with fixings and hooks ready to be hung.
Finished with an oil wax.

The purple sprouts which give this mirror its anthropomorphic feel were originally destined to be supports for arm rests on 2 carver dining chairs. However, after some trials it was apparent that the purpleheart components didn’t have enough outward reach, thereby narrowing the potential space for a person to sit. Consequently, new supports were made and these pieces were put to one side and left to ruminate on their own for a several months. Given the time I had spent shaping and sanding them, I did not want to see them go to waste, so reimagined their purpose in life and incorporated them into a mirror design. Waste not, want not!
