Lunar sea light is a slip cast porcelain light. Sark blue and green porcelain slip is painted onto the light to give a dynamic seascape impression. The clay is also carved into and drawn and marked to give variations in the surface.
The porcelain is polished unglazed and has a tactile smooth matt finish.
Lunar light gives a good amount of light as a downlight. Perfect for breakfast bars and islands as well as room lights.

Although thin and delicate in appearance, high fired porcelain ceramic is very hard and strong.
If they need to be cleaned, they can be removed from the bulb holder and carefully washed with warm water and a little washing up liquid and left to air dry.
A stones throw from the beach, the sounds and smells of the sea blow into my studio. As a sea swimmer I am transfixed by the glimpses of waves I see as I swim, the waterline as I am emersed and the waves breaking on the shore.
For their translucency the lamps as cast very thin and I careful carving by hand into the clay to make the relied designs. Each lamp is individual as unique as each wave.
