Wave lamp is a slip cast porcelain lamp. The wave design is carved into the raw clay by hand. The undulating wave is picked out in the light where the porcelain is thinner.
The porcelain is unglazed and has a tactile smooth matt finish. I also make Wave lamps in a gloss glaze finish, please enquire if the listing is not available.

Although thin and delicate in appearance, high fired porcelain ceramic is very hard and strong.
If they need to be cleaned, they can be removed from the bulb holder and carefully washed with warm water and a little washing up liquid and left to air dry.
A stones throw from the beach, the sounds and smells of the sea blow into my studio. As a sea swimmer I am transfixed by the glimpses of waves I see as I swim, the waterline as I am emersed and the waves breaking on the shore.
For their translucency the lamps as cast very thin and I careful carving by hand into the clay to make the relied designs. Each lamp is individual as unique as each wave.
