Description:
This is a cast glass bowl in quite a subtle colour which is beautifully set off by the circle of 23.5ct gold fired within the glass.
The texture is cast from a woven and folded fabric and this contrasts beautifully with the polished edge which shows the different tones of the glass.

Story:
I love casting from woven fabrics into plaster to form moulds which I can then cast my glass within. The glass is in chunks called billets and during the firing process these melt and flow over the surface of the plaster picking up all the texture.
The mould is broken away so it’s a one off piece. Then the edges are polished on 6 descending grit belts to give the beautiful shine to the edge.
