I took a flatly picture of some Mimi Eden products that best showcase what my work is about for a social media post. This sowed the seed in my mind to create a print for a canvas tote bag. The only problem was that I am not very artistic, so what to do?…….
I saw a post that a friend Chloe had put on her stories of watercolour flowers and asked her if she would collaborate with me to work on an illustrated version of my photo.
We discussed some idea options and the main thing for me was that the image wasn’t just a direct copy of the photo. It had to have a personality of its own AND be a line drawing. Chloe worked on a few versions before it hit the right note.
The end result is a stylised painted illustration with broken lines and subtle details. It comes in 2 colour ways. Classic black on Cream and white on Navy.

Hi there and welcome to Mimi Eden. A British contemporary brand that specialises in handcrafted accessories.
I use vegetable tanned leather in beautiful rich colours . Vegetable tanning is the traditional method of tanning leather and uses far less chemicals than its cheaper high street alternative. Vegetable tanned leather has wonderful characteristics in the hide that shows the imperfections and natural flaws in the finished product. Over time your product will develop a wonderful patina that is unique to every individual piece.
I also use block printed cotton lining and other natural materials such as Linen and Cotton canvas. All products are carefully cut and assembled by hand in small batches.
British brass buckles and fasteners finish my products which are all handcrafted by me in Yorkshire.
