Cane Studies Spheres were the first pieces in the Cane Studies series to be created. Initially the form allowed for experimentation and exploration of various cane techniques on a small scale, which would then be transferred to larger pieces. However, once this particular technique was found, it was decided that it was so effective on this scale that it would be put into production.
