Made with a luxurious, beautifully soft silk and camel down yarn, this stole, with its combination of natural undyed camel colouring and hand dyed streaks of soft colours, is handwoven in a traditional herringbone weave pattern. The soft yarn and silky handle give the stole a lovely drape showing off the sheen of the silk and the elegant weave pattern.
The colours in the warp are dip-dyed allowing the colours to fade in and out like mist against the natural butterscotch colour of the camel. The natural colour of the silky yarn is used for the weft further blending the colours.

To create the highest quality yarn, the coarse guard hairs are removed from the camel’s wool to leave the softest undercoat which can be equivalent to cashmere in quality. This is then combed with fine silk to give a lustrous, supersoft handle and spun into yarn.
This piece, made from a superior blend of 65% silk, 35% camel down, is individually designed and has been exquisitely woven at 16 ends (threads) per inch on a traditional 8 shaft floor loom, resulting in a soft, luxurious, sumptuously coloured silk textile. Every scarf is finished with hand hemstitching, a fringe and a “Jaine Mahon” label.
