This is a marbled wheel thrown durable stoneware stemmed bowl.
It has been made from blending Black and white stoneware clays.
The exterior has been left unglazed and has a satin finish to it, whereas the interior has been glazed with a clear glaze, which accentuates the colours of the marbling.
It stands on a short stem. It would be an ideal fruit or salad bowl.
It is 18.5 cm across the top, and stands 8 cm high.
My Potters stamp appears on the base.

Durable stoneware, however still fragile Ceramics, handle with care.
This belongs to a series of Vulcan black clay wares that I have made.
This time I marbled the clay with some white porcelain, and the swirls look fantastic!
there is an unpredictability with working like this, that I still find exciting when opening the kiln, and I am very pleased with the results..
