Please be aware that the surface of this wall hanging is matt and will pick up any grease marks or dirt from your hand. Please do not hang over heat.
Each piece has been thrown on the wheel, left to slightly dry and then goes through many different processes and techniques developed over my years as a ceramic artist to create my intricate images onto the damp clay surface.
My decoration is a combination of painting with clay slips, stencils and using sgraffito to draw the delicate lines onto each design. This takes many hours of work and no two pieces will ever look the same.
Once completed these are left to dry for a few weeks and fired twice in an electric kiln. I have only glazed the fish leaving the rest of the piece matt.
All of my wall hangings have a disc hanger attached to the back as well as four felt feet.
I have developed all the clay slip colours myself making them unique and I am always testing new and exciting colours.
