Description:
An unglazed earthenware sculpture with a rotatable head.
This piece is made from a variety of clays. The resulting variations and imperfections have given a subtle patination to the surface.
The body is created from one sheet of rolled clay formed into a conical shape and then cut and coaxed into position. The random markings are created with copper filaments that melt in the kiln and chemically react with particles in the clay. I’ve waxed and polished this piece after the final firing to give its surface a subtle sheen.
