Based in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter – now a recognised World Craft City – Michele White has worked for over forty years as a jewellery artist, educator and advocate for craft. Formerly a lecturer in gemmology and president of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, she founded Artisan Alchemy Gallery in 2016 to promote and celebrate British contemporary craftsmanship. She continues to create from her workshop, located just beneath the gallery. Michele’s distinctive work draws inspiration from organic and botanical forms, giving centre stage to unusual, striking gemstones and minerals.
