Using her traditional floor loom, Jaine Mahon hand weaves wearable art on the remote Isle of Skye: exquisitely crafted silk scarves, iridescent and richly pigmented, with a beautiful drape and the softest of handle, and as the threads for each are individually hand-dyed before weaving, unique.

A maker and daring colourist, Jaine fell in love with silk for its texture and its unrivalled ability to take dye, producing richly pigmented, shimmering colours and has been honing her craft for over 35 years.

Jaine creates colourful hand dyed silks, handwoven into luxurious scarves and stoles or using fine silk fabric, dyes and hand pleats it into elegant and unusual scarves using the Japanese Arashi Shibori method.
