In 2024, we introduced an award at Handmade Chelsea for the first time, in partnership with The Society of Designer Craftsmen. The winner was Caitlin Murphy.

For 2025 our awards have grown, and there will be no fewer than 5 presented! Two awards, and a selection of commendations, will be given by The Society of Designer Craftsmen, and three awards will be presented by The House Directory.

At Handmade in Britain we are very proud of our association with The Society of Designer Craftsmen, the UK’s oldest Craft Organisation, which began at Handmade Chelsea 2024. During the Private View for this year’s Handmade Chelsea, Fellows of the Society of Designer Craftsmen, Dawn Thorne, Kayley Holderness and Hazel Connors, walked the entire show and finally settled upon two deserving makers to receive their much coveted awards.

Each award winner receives a year’s membership to the Society of Designer Craftsmen and the opportunity to exhibit in a future SDC exhibition.

Handmade Chelsea in 2025 was thrilled to partner with The House Directory to bring three new awards to the show. On the first public day, The House Directory CEO Angel Tan, Co-Director Artur Naumov and Christopher Nicola of the Non-Exec Advisory Board, studied every exhibitor at the show, eventually choosing three worthy winners to represent three very specific categories.
