Louise Brown Art

Original ceramic sculptures. Sculpted from stoneware clay and decorated with glazes and underglazes and fired to temperatures exceeding 1000 degrees centigrade in an electric kiln. They are fired at least twice to gain the desired colour effect. .
The pieces are made by creating a rough shape with newspaper and then applying this strips of clay around the newspaper. The aim is to create plenty of texture to add interest to the finished piece.
Louise’s animal sculptures are quirky and humorous, but not necessarily anatomically correct in looks or proportion.
