This oak coffee table has three solid wood inlays that go right through the top of the table – the ‘winding paths, which are made from sapele (light brown), walnut (dark brown) and fumed oak (black).

Oil and wax are used to finish the piece.

The dimensions of the coffee table are: 98cm long, 52cm wide and 47cm high.

Weight 10 kg
Dimensions 98 × 52 × 47 cm

The name ‘winding paths’ comes from the idea how paths meander and cross over a landscape. Taking this concept, solid wooden inlays cut right through the table top and are visible on all the surfaces – the upper surface, the lower surface (in reverse) and the two edges.

I have used this idea in the production of console tables and jewellery boxes.
