Inspired by visits to her familial connections in Paris, the artist uses her original paintings and watercolours to form a series of works connected to these grounding formulations. Coupled with her interest in gardens and the therapeutic outcomes often associated with nature. She recently developed work surrounding places we feel at peace within. Inspired by the biblical verse which alludes to a time where one may literally sleep in safety, naming this collection overall They may sleep in the forests. Ailish draws upon the places she now feels calmer in. Travel abroad and garden settings are key themes often observed, as we see here in this silk square.
