This pair of cabinets has something of the 1970’s look about them, although they wouldn’t look out of place on the set of the TV series ‘Space 1999’, which coincidently was made in the 1970’s.
The cabinets are made from sycamore, with an oak top, legs and handle detail. The drawers are made from American cherry with sycamore drawer bottoms.
Oil and wax are used as the finish.
The dimensions of the cabinets are: 63cm high, 43cm wide and 43cm deep.
Production time for these cabinets is approximately six to eight weeks.

When thinking about the design of these cabinets, one question asked is how big shall I make them? A starting point is needed, and then from that all other dimension can be figured out.
One thing that would probably be kept in the drawer is a box of tissues. So, I based the width of the drawers big enough to hold a box of man-sized Kleenex tissue.
Inspiration sometimes comes from the oddest places.
