Story:

Inspired by spores – the tiny “seeds” of ancient non flowering plants.
I came across spores on the underside of fern leaves in a forest where I often walk. At first glance they look like little discs but closer inspection reveals beautifully frayed edges and delightful miniature details. Look out for them in late summer.
To create this unusual structure I used the electroforming process to “grow” metal on my model. After several days I had some interesting natural formations from which to make moulds. The lost wax process is then used to cast pieces in silver before grinding, soldering, polishing and burnishing.
