I woke up this morning to a very gloomy day and decided to do some energising yoga to start my day. Having this stunning lamp in ebonised recycled mahogany switched on beside me was a great help in creating the relaxing environment I was after.
The shade made from Red Gum veneer with a natural fabric backing gives a particularly dramatic “Sunset” effect when the lamp is switched on. It looks great switched off, but amazing when it is on.
Size;
The height of the lamp is 28cm.
The diameter is 17cm.
Fittings;
I have so far only made them with UK electrical fittings. The SES (E14) lamp-holders are of high-quality brass. Please contact me if you want it made to order with other fittings. The lamps have been tested for electrical safety.
NOTE
As wood is a natural material, the photo gives a very good indication of the appearance, but will not be identical to the one you receive.

An occasional dusting should be all the maintenance that is required. Treat them with the same care you would apply to all electrical products.
The unique joint that I developed for the centre of this lamp was originally inspired by the three-finned plant-stems that I saw in the tropical house at Kew Gardens. I originally used it for my unique table leg design before modifying it for this range of table lamps.
The mahogany that I ebonised to create the lovely black grain of this wood was reclaimed from an old shoe shop in Southport that was being refitted. I suspect the shop looked better before, but at least it meant I could make use of this amazing wood that cannot (and should not) be obtained new today.
