Description:

Delicate drops strung on sparkling chain. With smaller and wider spaced drops than my original Drape necklace, the Fine Drape is a classic, elegant piece that can be worn everyday. The drops have a brushed satin finish which catch the light beautifully.

The chain has links so that it can be worn at both 16 and 18 inches. Please get in touch if you would like the chain longer.

Available in silver or gold vermeil (2.5 microns of 24ct gold over silver). My gold plating is of the highest quality, the thickness of the gold means that it won’t wear away and is suitable for those allergic to silver.

Care Instructions:

Wash gold and silver necklaces in soapy water and pat dry with a soft cloth. A soapy, soft bristled toothbrush can be used to get into nooks and crannies. Heavily tarnished silver necklaces (not gold plated) can also be cleaned with a Silver Dip solution.

Story:

I am a jeweller from Totnes in Devon, I make everything by hand in my home studio. I aim to create beautifully simple and perfectly balanced contemporary jewellery that is inspired by the Devon landscape. My Drape necklaces have been my most popular piece for many years, they are so simple in design yet look so wonderful on. They are fiddly and time consuming to make but are still my favourite piece to make as they look so beautiful once finished, I love the way they catch the light.

Lucy Behrens Jewellery

Lucy Behrens is a contemporary jewellery designer and maker.

Lucy has a background in printmaking, in which she has completed an MA. In 2015 Lucy bought a piece of jewellery that ignited in her a desire to learn silversmithing, she discovered her love of using her hands in a more physical way and the pleasure of making tangible objects. Making jewellery filled the space for both the hand and eye. Balance and composition are integral to each of Lucy’s pieces. She believes in the beauty of simplicity and the joy of the imperfect. She spends the majority of her designing process removing and reducing elements, in order to find each piece’s essence. She is always looking for new ways to put form and function together, and is drawn to delicate textural surfaces and misty matte finishes.

Lucy grew up and lived in London until moving to Devon in 2018, to be near the sea and the moor. It is from both landscapes that she draws a great deal of her inspiration.

Lucy’s work is made in sterling silver, gold items are then very thickly plated in either 18ct or 24ct gold.
