This is Simon Middleton Handwoven’s signature design: a statement throw to keep forever.
Handwoven from largely handspun yarn, using undyed British-grown wools from small flocks and rare breeds.
As with all my weaves, it’s uniquely designed on the loom, and lovingly created. There will never be two the same!
Available in three sizes.
The yarn is woven from a variety of pure wools, plus Mulberry and Tussah silks:
• Bluefaced Leicester yarn from West Yorkshire Spinners (reared, sheared and spun in UK)
• Jacob (reared, sheared and homespun in UK)
• Hill Radnor (reared, sheared and homespun in UK)
• Shetland (reared, sheared and homespun in UK)
• Ryland (reared, sheared and homespun in UK)
• Merino (South American non-mulesed, homespun in UK)
Care: cool handwash, or wool/handwash cycle with max 800rpm spin.

Simon Middleton says: “I’ve become obsessed with the look, feel and even the smell of wool. It’s such an inspiring and evocative raw material, imbued with so much character and variation. Working with it from such an early stage, doing all the spinning of the yarn myself, with a traditional foot-powered spinning wheel, means my pieces are also uniquely ‘human scale’. It’s a very simple journey, process-wise, from sheep to finished product, which makes each piece so different from mass-manufactured garments and homewares.”
