The beautiful River Severn that flows near my home is the inspiration for this pendant. The river is named after the Goddess Sabrina…Welsh folklore tells of three daughters whose mother told them all to make their best way to the sea. Rheidol obeyed her mother perfectly and forged her way to the sea by the shortest and most direct route reaching the sea near Aberystwyth. Wye became so enamoured with the loveliness of the country through which she passed, she kept wandering around to see so much beauty in Mid Wales and meandered for miles out her way before she reached the sea. Severn or in Latin Sabrina, cascaded through the spectacular Welsh mountains and glided across wide fertile valleys, before surging into the sea. She became serene, beautiful and was often feared for being too powerful.
As the level of the water drops, the rivers edge is crowded with tiny tumbled pebbles, smoothed by the flow of the water as it makes it’s way to the sea. The 9.5ct blue Sapphire is suspended along with many tiny sterling silver pebbles
Measuring approximately 52mm in length, the pendant is suspended on an 18″ Sterling Silver snake chain
Your necklace will be placed in a Scarlett Willow Designs gift box and will come with a care guide and polishing cloth to help keep your jewellery looking it's best.
