This jewellery box has a lid that is made from panel of poplar burr, that has been surrounded by a contrasting dark fumed oak edge detail.
Within the jewellery box are two lift out beech storage trays, and beneath the trays is an area for the storage of larger items of jewellery.
An aubergine coloured faux suede material is used to line both the box and the trays.
Please note that wood being a natural product has a variation in grain colour and pattern, hence each box although made from the same species, will have a slightly different look.
The dimensions of the box are: 31cm wide (left to right), 20cm deep (front to back), and 11cm high (top to bottom).

Over time the box will develop a natural patina. No special care is required, other than an occasional dusting with a soft cloth. Never use a spray-on furniture polish on the box.
Poplar burr is a wood that was used extensively in the art-deco period. It has an amazing swirling grain pattern that is scattered with dark brown knots.
Fumed oak is oak that has been exposed to ammonia fumes. The tanning in the oak reacts with the fumes and turns the wood a dark brown to black colour.
