Description:
Original sculpture of a miniature wire haired dachshund. He is in a sitting position and is wearing a green collar. Sculpted in stoneware clay and fired to stoneware temperatures exceeding 1000 degrees centigrade. After the initial firing he is then painted with underglazes and fired again. If the colours are not quite as expected it has more colour applied and then a clear glaze is added to the eyes. It is fired for the third time, and then when finished it will have a matte finish with shiny eyes. He has a slightly rough texture due to the type of clay used.
