This one-of-a-kind oak leaf vase is inspired by my deep love for the ancient oak trees that surround my home in the Forest of Dean. Living in this enchanting woodland, I’m constantly in awe of the strength and beauty of these trees, their branches stretching skyward and their leaves whispering stories of seasons past.
Creating this piece was a labor of love. Each oak leaf was individually hand-sculpted and carefully applied, a process that took several days to complete. The textured details and flowing form are meant to echo the organic shapes found in the wild, while the earthy glaze captures the warmth and richness of the forest floor. Once built, the vase was slowly dried to prevent cracking, fired twice, and glazed—a process that spans weeks.
