A hand block printed cushion in the Lily’s Fish design.
Colours are a dark charcoal, silver grey and golden brown printed onto a creamy white background. Each cushion is printed as a separate piece by Linda Baxter, aka The Black Fish Press, the blocks layered to create subtle colour combinations and textures. Printing inks are sourced locally from Hawthorns in York and the linen union from Bradford.
The cushion is backed with linen union, piped in dark grey and is zipped, fabric tagged and made up with care and attention in Sheffield.
The inner pad has an organic cotton cover, a hypoallergenic microfibre filling and is made in the UK.
*Please note that there is a ‘Cover only’ option, and that only this option can be selected for postage to Europe and the Rest of the World*
Cushion & Pad, Cushion Cover only
The cushion cover can be machine washed on a delicate cycle at 30 degrees. A care label is attached.
The Lily’s Fish design was Linda’s first design – based on her daughter Lily’s three goldfish.
The design uses three printing blocks – two providing the base silver grey and golden brown shapes and the main ‘fish’ block overprinted in Payne’s Grey, a dark charcoal colour.

Textile printer Linda Baxter, aka the Black Fish Press, uses traditional block printing skills to produce cushions, quilts and fabric lengths in her studio in Sheffield.
Linda’s inspiration usually comes from the manmade – from the forms and patterns of artefacts and architecture.
“My work is made to bring distinctive colour and pattern to where you live and work. Each piece is hand block printed separately with its own unique variations of colour, pattern and texture and will I hope be something you keep and carry with you from one home to the next.”
