Description:

This porcelain jug has a machine embroidered textile texture, depicting a pair of leaping cranes with wings outstretched and on the reverse, swaying bamboo. The texture of the stitches have been overpainted with cobalt before the final firing to give a rich blue finish. The interior and the handle have a transparent, shiny glaze. There are three sprigged buttons on the base to lift the jug slightly off of the table. The jug is 12.5cm tall with an 11cm diameter base.
