Description:

Roll up, roll up! Grab a seat on the enchanted Carrousel du Soleil as the magical horses gallop through the night to the mystic lands of the full moon…

Inspired by the delight of childhood rides on the carousel at Sandown Pier, the Carrousel de la Lune Scarf features five majestic horses and, a magical unicorn. Each horse is bedecked in livery based upon Medieval embroidery of knightly processions and Eastern envoys. The horses gallop eternally in their quest against the lilac and navy backdrop of a silken circus tent, trimmed in bright bunting.

This scarf is available in two sizes:

The Busy Lizzie Scarf is the ultimate style classic, as made famous by Audrey Hepburn and worn to this day by the Queen herself. Measuring 90x90cm, this can be seen modelled in the third and last image.

For a true statement scarf, the only option is the Iris Oversized Scarf. Measuring 134x134cm this scarf has enough fabric to wrap yourself up in, or makes for a stunning wall hanging. For scale, this scarf is modelled in the fourth image.

Silk is a very delicate fabric and is best dry cleaned, but you can remove stains by hand washing with a gentle soap and warm water.

Story:

Inspired by a trip to Coney Island, the infamous theme park in Brooklyn, New York, Carnivale! captures the spirit of a fairground left to run wild. Here in this magical carnival, carousel horses come alive and dart between the stalls. Cats mingle in the twilight, shrouded in cloaks and masks. A perpetual ferris wheel spins eternally, small dogs are borne away on the breeze tied to colourful balloons. Fluid, watercolour brushstrokes capture the chaos and movement of the funfair, while the bright colours are a snap shot of times gone by. Roll up, roll up to Also the Bison’s latest sweet but subversive collection…

“Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful” – William Morris

Also the Bison was founded by London-based designer Maddie Chambers following graduation from her MA in Fashion, during which she studied the designs and working practices of William Morris, and his daughter May Morris. These working practices have become the foundation of our business and what we believe in:

Design – Maddie hand paints all the bright, whimsical designs which gives each piece an artisan quality that cannot be replicated by digital colouring.

Recycling – we aim to have as little environmental impact with our products as possible. We use the finest natural materials, that can be recycled to lengthen their lifespan, wherever possible, staying away from harmful synthetic fibres.

Sustainability – we use digital print rather than screen printing which uses fewer harmful dyes that can pollute our waterways.

Ethical Production – we support modern craftspeople, we work with other small businesses in the UK to produce our collections so we can be sure that our production is ethical.

Practicality – we ensure that our products are not only beautiful, but useful, and can be treasured for years to come.
