This box is made from solid sycamore and measures W150mm x D150mm x H60mm. The lid features 4 equal strips of ColorCore (solid core laminate) by Formica and the handle is machined from solid brass. Inside, the base is lined with light grey suede and the underside, which features our makers mark, is veneered in Sycamore.

For the body of the box nothing more than a gentle wipe with a slightly damp cloth, followed by a polish with a dry cloth, should ever be necessary. Brass will oxidise and develop a patina over time. A careful polish with Brasso will restore its original shine.
One thing that dyed wood veneers cannot offer is the uniformly saturated colour of a plastic laminate. This intensity of colour affords a strong graphic, even in the context of a simple striped design. Combined with solid wood, suede leather and a brass handle, the plastic laminate assumes an unexpected, jewel like quality.
