Description:

Each Jug is thrown on the potter’s wheel using stoneware clay, then decorated with coloured slips and fired in an electric kiln. A transparent glaze is then applied before firing again to a high temperature, which vitrifies the clay and produces a wonderful depth of colour. Although designs are repeatable, each piece has its own unique aspects, celebrating the touch of the maker. Due to the nature of the materials and processes used the size and finish of pieces will vary slightly. Available in two designs Green Circle, or Circles on Green Smoke.

Story:

This Jug is part of a collection of ceramics which draws inspiration from the simple beauty, and intriguing surfaces of old gardening tools gathered from my grandfather’s shed. Quiet thrown forms are decorated with slips in a range of abstract designs, with vessels providing a canvas for mark making.
