Beautiful, handwoven throw to wrap up in or lay across the end of the bed. After my sheep’s fleeces are processed into a yarn perfect for making woven fabric, it goes to a wonderful, nostalgic weaving shed on Dartmoor where these blankets are hand woven. This traditional herringbone design in completely undyed, natural yarns creates a timeless throw with a fully traceable provenance; from my fields to your home.

Dimensions 180 × 84 cm
Care Instructions:

Dry clean only

I bought my first sheep six years ago, absolutely determined to work with their wool to produce contemporary, artisan products with real provenance. I don’t come from a farming family, it is a passion I grew into, but I rarely feel more comfortable in my own skin than when I am in the field with my flock. It wasn’t how my career started out, I spent many years working in the creative world, but when I started farming it felt like coming home. My flock of rare breed, British sheep conservation graze on land in the Cotswolds. After shearing, I take their fleeces to the Natural Fibre Company in Cornwall, where it goes through the scouring, carding and spinning process to be made into my yarns.

Working with the wool from her flock of rare breed British sheep, Katie Allen produces artisan textiles for the home. She bought her first sheep several years ago determined to work with their wool to produce contemporary, artisan products with true provenance. Passionate about traceability her beautiful textiles can be followed from her studio, through her partners in the British Isles that help with processing the fleeces, right back to her flock of sheep that graze the Cotswolds countryside. Across her collection she aims to bring together woollen accessories for the home that offer aesthetic pleasure and a sense of warmth and cosiness. Most importantly, she wants to connect my customers with provenance, with rural skills and with the feeling that they own something truly handcrafted, and evocative of our working countryside and great British wool.
