This sculpture is a new addition to my rocky sculptures series with a different composition.
I construct it by hand using chunks of American Bullseye Glass to create natural forms.
It’s a 3 dimensional piece in 3 beautiful shades of blue fired with 23.5ct gold.
Each composition is different. It’s only when I take it out of the kiln after a 6 day firing that I can see the result and find out if I’ve captured the essence of my inspiration!
The dimensions are H8 W7 D6cm
It is packaged in a gift box.

These pieces explore the beauty of stone bridges, harbour walls, dry stone walls and rocky outcrops.
The compositions are evocative of the landscape and suggest rocks and stones placed harmoniously together, contrasting defined edges with the softness of adjacent vegetation.
Some have highlights of 23.5ct gold fired into the glass suggesting golden lichen.
The blocks of colour echo the surrounding landscape, water and sky.
They have a sense of place and atmosphere.
