This porcelain jug has two machine embroidered swimming carp, creating a textile textured functional jug. The stitches of the fish and their bubbles are overpainted with cobalt and fired to give a rich blue. The interior and handle have a glossy glaze. There are three sprigged buttons on the base. The jug is functional and can go in the dishwasher.

These koi are my most recent designs, having recently been exploring traditions of blue and white porcelain, symbolism and their storytelling. Fish are symbolic of strength, perseverence, love and bravery.
