Solid bronze pears, cast using an adaptation of the Italian Lost Wax casting process to ‘directly’ cast from the original fruit. Available in two finishes, ‘Raw’ Bronze or a coloured patina, both finished with natural beeswax. Please note – patination is a chemical reaction so the final results will vary from those shown in the images. The patina options are a guide and denote the dominant colour scheme in the final work if selected.
When there are finished items ready for immediate delivery, this will be listed. Otherwise, works are made to commission so please allow up to three weeks for a piece to be cast, finished and delivered once ordered. If you would prefer an additional trait in your pear – plump, wrinkled or a half pear – please let the studio know and this can be arranged. The postage listed is for the delivery of 1 pear tracked and signed.
Patina and Finish:
Raw Bronze, Warm Patina, Green Patina
Waxed bronze surfaces will always dull a little in time. To return the original lustre, gently buff with a clean cotton cloth.
One of the few fruits that can be said to share the voluptuous and somewhat flirtatious characteristics of the fig! Their form varies but they appear slightly rounder and shorter than the Conference variety.
As every Pomarius work is unique, please only use the images and dimensions here as a guide. Sometimes pears are left out in the studio so as to cast a little softer, sometimes they’re cast firm and unwrinkled. If you have a preference for your pear, please let the studio know.
