Handmade Oxford and the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford are proud to present the competition Identity.

The winner of Identity art and design competition has been announced!

Works on the theme of personal identity and self-expression were invited and the submissions are in and the winner has been chosen from the final shortlist.

The 24 shortlisted works are now on show at the Ashmolean Museum until 16 June, and the winner of both the judges panel and the public vote was announced at the Ashmolean on 13 June  2019.

All items are for sale at the Ashmolean shop online.

Chosen by a panel of judges: Emma Bridgewater, designer, Matthew Winterbottom, Senior Curator of Sculpture and the Decorative Arts, Ashmolean and Shirley Jackson, Commercial Director, Ashmolean is: ShadeVolume, by Merel Karhof and Marc Trotereau.

The public voted in their thousands via Zealous, the online submissions portal, for their favourite piece, and the winner is: Wandering, Jaeeun Kim.

The winners work and the work of the finalists will be at the Ashmolean Museum until Sunday 16th June, and then move online at the Ashmolean before moving to Handmade Oxford, the International Contemporary Arts Festival on 27 June 2019.

The exhibition moves to Handmade Oxford at Waterperry Gardens on 27 June.

All items are for sale. They can be bought via the Ashmolean online shop until they move to Handmade Oxford on 27 June, when they can be purchased there.

PRIZES:

The winner  chosen by the judging panel will receive a further opportunity to display their work at the Ashmolean Museum, lunch for two in the Rooftop Restaurant, a pair of tickets to the ‘Last Supper in Pompeii’ exhibition, and £700 towards the cost of a stand at a future Handmade in Britain event.
