We are pleased to announce that we are launching a crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube, and on doing so plan to become the first company in the craft industry to be owned by its customers and supporters.

OUR STORY

Handmade in Britain was started in 2007 because of the limited opportunities available for British designer-makers and craftspeople to promote and sell their work in the UK market. What began as a small contemporary craft fair in Chelsea Old Town Hall, has now grown into a well-known brand in the UK craft sector.

Over the years, we have curated over 25 fairs and we’ve been able to collaborate with world-renowned organisations such as the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and Waterperry Gardens, creating shows and providing a platform to promote the work of talented makers, designers and craftspeople whilst engaging new audiences.

Workshops and business mentoring are also key to our mission to support the designer-maker communities.

Recently, we diversified our business and launched a highly curated e-commerce platform. Our focus is now to introduce new technologies and create exceptional digital experiences for our customers.

With a passion for the handmade, the support and promotion of British craft and design remains central to our priorities for the future.

FAQs

If you invest in a business on Crowdcube, you will become a direct shareholder in the company. The amount you invest, and the equity issued by the company in exchange for your investment will affect your percentage of ownership in the business. Once your investment has been processed, you will be sent a share certificate and be an official shareholder in the business.

You can invest as little as £10, but the more you invest, the more benefits you will receive. (See the rewards section below)

To invest on Crowdcube you must be over 18 years of age and legally entitled to invest. You must be a UK resident or a country where you may legally receivefinancial promotions of the nature provided by Crowdcube, and are legally entitled to invest in the type of investment offered. First, you will need to register as a member on the Crowdcube website. Once our campaign is live, you can simply enter the amount you wish to invest in the ‘Enter amount’ box and click ‘Invest now’. You are able to pay for your investment through debit, credit or prepaid card. Unfortunately, Crowdcube are unable to accept payment by cheque or bank transfer.

Prior to our Crowdcube campaign going live to the public, we want to launch exclusively to you, our supporters and friends, giving you early access to the first round. Our private launch will be happening in March. If you’d like to be notified, please enter your email address above.

Once the campaign reaches its target and closes to further funding, the completion process begins. At that point, all investors will receive a copy of the Article of Association via email and will be informed of the cooling off period. Once the cooling off period has expired, which is generally no less than the seven days, the payment collection process starts and then electronic share certificates are issued.
