MILSOM PLACE, Bath: 5th - 6TH December 2009

The building is a Grade 1 listed Octagon shaped Georgian Chapel, and has been recently refurbished as an anchor store for the Milsom Place estate. The Octagon lies at the heart of Milsom Street - Bath’s prime shopping area, with frontages onto three streets with high levels of footfall (measured at two separate times of the year at 45-67,000 per week)  of the right type i.e. wealthy, sophisticated and style aware.

This part of Bath is virgin territory for selling exhibitions and yet has a strong mix of markets; international and UK tourists, a wide regional catchments including the ‘celebrity Cotswolds’ and a high density of affluent/sophisticated neighbourhoods within walking distance of the prime shopping district.

The show scheduled for Saturday 5th – Sunday 6th December (private view on Friday 4th December) coincides with the 11 day open air Bath Christmas Market which runs from 26th November to 6th December. There were 224,000 additional shoppers in the city for this event in 2008.

Following the quality of the event in Assembly Rooms Bath, Handmade in Britain has been invited to showcase their talented designer-makers at Octagon, Milsom Street Bath during the Christmas festival.
