Handmade in Britain was set up by designer maker Piyush Suri to support and promote young and upcoming designers/makers who produce their work in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The organisation works to promote professional design excellence through productive partnerships between the designer and the public.

Handmade in Britain is an initiative to:
  • Maintain the high standards in British Craft sector and create market opportunities for buying craft.
  • Provide a platform to new designers/makers to start their own business.
  • Increase the accessibility of the works of crafts people to the public.
  • Organise training workshops for new designers/makers.
  • Focus on eco-friendly and low carbon foot print level handcrafted products.
The first show Handmade 2007 @ Chelsea Old Town Hall London showcased a class of 2007 graduated from Royal College of Art and Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design along with some established designers/makers.

Handmade 2007 was well appreciated in terms of quality, design and style by the visitors.
